Parineeti Chopra is also working in the lead role with Diljit in this film. Parineeti has played the role of Amarjot, Amar Singh’s wife in this film. The film Amar Singh Chamkila has been directed by famous director Imtiaz Ali and this film is going to be released on Netflix on 12th April.
Recently, Diljit Dosanjh appeared on YouTuber Ranveer Allahabadia’s podcast to promote the film. During this, he shared many stories about the film with the audience. He also told how he brought alive the character of Amar Singh Chamkila on screen.
During the show, Diljit was asked a question whether he felt the energy of this character within himself, then Diljit said yes of course, I felt 100% Amar Singh Chamkila’s energy within me.
Diljit Dosanjh told that we shot at the exact place where Amar Singh Chamkila was shot. Imtiaz sir has filmed the murder scene at the same place. Exactly at the same place where Amar Singh had fallen after being shot. We shot the scene there.
Diljit told that when I fell after being shot, Tumbi was in my hand, when I started falling, the wire of Tumbi touched my hand and I could see blood coming out of my hand while falling. I immediately felt that Amar Singh must have been killed here. I felt everything that must have happened to Amar Singh at that time.
Amar Singh Chamkila is considered to be the highest record selling singer of Punjab. His fans fondly called him the Elvis of Punjab. He was shot dead at the age of just 27.
